.Senator Richard Bryan had a long and influential political career in Nevada, serving in several major public offices over nearly three decades. A member of the Democratic Party, Bryan first gained statewide recognition as Nevada’s Attorney General from 1979 to 1983, where he focused on consumer protection and law enforcement issues. He later served as Governor of Nevada from 1983 to 1989. During his time as governor, Bryan worked to strengthen Nevada’s economy, improve education, and support infrastructure growth as the state experienced rapid population expansion.

In 1989, Bryan was elected to the United States Senate, where he represented Nevada for two terms until 2001. While serving in the Senate, he became known for his strong opposition to the proposed nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, a position that earned broad support among Nevada residents. Bryan also focused on issues involving public lands, transportation, tourism, and gaming regulation, all of which were important to Nevada’s economy. His leadership and advocacy helped shape modern Nevada politics and left a lasting impact on the state.

Transforming the lives of abused and at-risk children, young adults and families by empowering them to create new choices and new hope in a caring community. Today, our campus is a community landmark and an important part of life in Boulder City.  Not only do we continue to serve the needs of abused and neglected children and young adults in Southern Nevada, we give tours of our campus, maintain a Thrift Store that is open to the public seven days a week and conduct weddings in our beautiful chapel.  Crossings and New Crossings, our transitional living programs for homeless youth and families, and Child Focus, our sibling preservation program, are both located in Las Vegas.

Honor Flight Southern Nevada is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor US veterans of World War II, Korea and the Vietnam War by flying them to Washington D.C., completely free of charge. Once in D.C., the veterans can visit the memorials that stand in their honor and serve as a tribute to their sacrifice.
